Challenge Grifo Race - TLR

The best all-around cyclocross tire ever created excels in wet or dry, soft packed, rocky and root-infested courses, grass, and more. The Grifo features fast rolling knobs and a center section that offers excellent pedaling and braking traction. 

With our RACE series, we start where other tires stop - we utilize ultralight 60TPI nylon casings and superior tread compounds - to give our traditional vulcanized tires excellent ride feel and quality that is more affordable than our handmade offerings.

This Challenge TLR model is hooked rim compatible, and is designed to be compliant with UCI tire-width rules with most rims having an internal rim width up to 19mm. Please check inflated width to be certain of compliance.

CASING: Nylon Superlight 60TPI
Vulcanized Nylon tire casings are the industry standard. Easy to produce and offering excellent durability and high performance at a moderate cost, they are the most common variety of tire available.

COMPOUND: SMART-V
A specially formulated version of our SMART compound that is adapted to the different construction of vulcanized tires.

PUNCTURE PROTECTION: PPS
Our Puncture Protection System (PPS) is a tough, tightly-woven fabric placed between the tread and casing to increase puncture resistance.
