The new Áspero remains true to those early, simpler days of gravel, but with some improvements—a threaded BB shell, neater cable routing, and a UDH-compatible derailleur hanger for those who want to use SRAM’s Transmission drivetrains. And it’s faster, of course. We shaved off three watts worth of drag in the redesign process. We also dropped the seat stays to give a bit more compliance out back, and reduced front-end stiffness slightly to make the last hours of a long race less painful. Between those dropped seat stays, we added in a bit more clearance for mud, too. Áspero will clear a 45mm tire by ISO standards.

  • Threaded BB shell: This provides a reliable and easy-to-maintain interface for the bottom bracket, ensuring longevity and smooth operation.
  • Neater cable routing: Tidy cable management not only enhances aesthetics but also can improve shifting performance and reduce maintenance needs.
  • UDH-compatible derailleur hanger: Offering compatibility with SRAM's Transmission drivetrains gives riders more options for their preferred components, enhancing versatility.
  • Reduced drag: Shaving off three watts worth of drag in the redesign process translates to improved aerodynamics, potentially leading to faster speeds with the same effort.
  • Dropped seat stays: This design tweak aims to enhance rear-end compliance, improving comfort over rough terrain or during long rides.
  • Reduced front-end stiffness: By dialing back stiffness slightly, the bike aims to reduce fatigue during long races, making the overall riding experience more comfortable.
  • Increased mud and tire clearance: With added clearance for mud, the bike can accommodate larger tires (up to 45mm by ISO standards), ensuring better performance in challenging conditions.
  • Versatility: These improvements collectively result in a bike that retains the essence of the original Áspero but is faster, more comfortable, and better suited to a variety of riding conditions.

The sizing chart is a great place to start when picking your next bike but everyone will fit a bike a bit differently. Your torso, arm, and leg lengths all play into what size of bike you may need. Plus, there's your own personal preference.

We always recommend swinging by the shop and taking the bike that you're looking for a spin to see how it feels. If you're unable to come by, looking at the geometry of your current bike and comparing it is a good place to start. If you have any further questions, our customer service team is there to help.
