Specialized's first e-cargo bike is here, the Turbo Porto. Combining Specialized build quality, Turbo power and cargo carrying capacity, the Turbo Porto is a longtail e-cargo bike capable of hauling groceries, getting the kids to soccer practice, and everything in between. The perfect vehicle for urban errands, the Porto rides like a breeze for advanced and beginner riders alike, just hop on and go.
Known for their industry leading ebikes, the Specialied Porto is no different. Putting decades of experience producing high quality bikes into each ebike they build, Specialized puts rider experience at the forefront of their design, resulting in bikes with ride characteristics that mirror those of their non-electric counterparts. That is to say, if Specialized puts their name on it, you can trust it to be one of the best bikes you could buy.
Spectacular Power
Specialized know that power is important when it comes to cargo, so their first e-cargo bike had to make cruising around with a fully loaded bike just as easy as can be. Using a mid-drive motor with 90Nm of torque and a 710Wh battery, no other bike in its class has this much power.
The Porto can cruise up to a top speed of 32km/h and stay there. Even if you've got some monster climbs on your commute, the Porto can quickly and easily take you there. Just load it up and the Porto will take you where you need to be.
The huge 710Wh battery gives up to 5 hours of riding time aboard the Porto, plenty of time to get things done, and can be removed for charging inside, but also safely locks inside the frame for secure storage while you're grocery shopping.
Purposeful Performance
Every bike Specialized makes is a performance bike, including the Porto. The Porto was designed with rider convenience and premium handling in mind, which is why you'll find a super low standover to make it easy to mount and dismount, a 24" wheel up front and 20" wheel out back, for load carrying capacity and stability. Rated up to 200kg, the Porto was made for ease of use for all riders, small or tall.
Coupling that powerful Turbo motor to the rear wheel is an Enviolo internally geared hub, running off a drive belt rather than a chain, for the ultimate in maintenance-free cycling, and smooth operation. Specialized's purpose-made 2.8" Pathfinder tires keep things rolling smooth, fast and safe.
Family-First Function
Porto is made for the modern family, because we know that health, fitness and the environment are more important than ever before. Say goodbye to the SUV and hello to the Porto. That's easier said than done though, which is why Specialized pulled out all the stops to make the Porto truly functional for the modern family. Far from being a bare-bones basic model, the Porto comes equipped from the factory with front and rear racks, ready for hauling straight from the shop.
The Specialized Turbo app lets you fine tune your ride in 10% power increments, so you can get exactly the power you need, when you need it. Say goodbye to range anxiety too. Tell Smart Control in the Turbo app where you're going, and it measures the power out for you, so you're never left without juice. Or just hop on and ride - your choice.
Safety
Safety is paramount when it comes to transporting the most precious goods, your pride and joy. Porto comes with a number of safety features from the factory, so you can leave your worries at home. Porto is the first longtail cargo bike to come equipped with a Garmin rear radar, alerting you to approaching cars, as well as running lights front and rear. See and be seen. When you arrive at your destination, the integrated wheel lock and Turbo System Lock make it nearly impossible for anyone else to take your Porto. Simply use the Specialized App to turn off your bike’s motor and set the motion sensor alarm. Once locked, only the owner can turn the motor back on.
Accessories
Porto comes standard with a front rack capable of carrying up to 20kg, and rear rack that'll carry up to 60kg, plus light, radar, bungees, mirror, adjustable stem, wheel covers, a wheel lock, frame bag, pannier rails, adjustable seatpost, and saddle handle. That's plenty to get started, but Specialized built the Porto to be modular and flexible, which is why there are a ton of accessories to make the Porto your own.
Passenger seat
The Porto passenger seat, made with high density foam and a waterproof cover, clips into the rear rack to make a stable, comfy platform for your passengers. Combine with safety rails and foot pegs/platforms for the ultimate high occupancy vehicle.
safety rails
Foam-padded safety rails are the best way to protect your most precious cargo. Making the perfect housing for a child seat or eurocrate, specifically designed to fit the MIK-compatible rear rack, they'll take two passenger seats or child seats, plus have space for two bottle cages or locks to mount.
Foot platforms
Keep grounded even while rolling - the foot platforms allow foot space for two passengers, and are adjustable in to two positions.
Foot Pegs
The little sibling to the foot platforms, the foot pegs allow space for one passenger while allowing room for panniers.
Coolcave Pannier
The iconic 19-liter open pannier crafted from durable plastic, the Coolcave is ideal for transporting daily necessities during urban commutes or rural adventures. Its convenient clip-on, clip-off design ensures you can easily bring the Coolcave and its contents wherever you go.
