Enve Mog Is a Versatile Gravel Bike With Exquisite Fit and Finish

Mother Of Gravel - an ultra high end gravel bike that's built a la carte to your exact tastes. The Enve MOG is the third bike frameset the Utah company has released, all within the last year or two. A pretty impressive track record, and for the company well regarded for their high quality carbon products it's no less impressive that it looks even more refined than practically anything else out there, including their own Melee road bike.

Enve MOG

The MOG fits at the burly end of the spectrum for Enve bikes, with the Custom Road Bike at the other end and the Melee in the middle. Both the MOG and Melee are off-the-shelf in terms of fixed sizing and geometry, but thanks to the myriad of control and wheel combinations offered by the carbon wizards the bikes are able to be specced to the customer's preferences and a superior fit achieved.

Don't let the MOG fool you though; while it might not be a totally custom bike, it's about as high end as a gravel frameset comes. This thing is meticulously designed down to the smallest fittings, because the devil is in the detail. The finish on the MOG is incredible, the edges of the paint around mounting points etc. are incredibly clean and the attention to detail is second to ton, with a ton of smart features packed in there.

Frame Features

Speaking of smart features, the MOG is one of few gravel bikes to adopt Sram's UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) standard, meaning it will accept their new Eagle Transmission groupsets, or any other regular drivetrain with spare hangers readily available. The bottom bracket is a threaded T47, meaning it'll be stiff with no creaking and compatible with many spindle sizes. The cable routing uses Enve's own In-Route system with internally routed bars, stem and headset for a super clean look.

MOG is compatible with most current drivetrain options and includes routing for a 27.2 diameter dropper post such as their own G-Series, and hidden mounts for full coverage fenders. There are mounts for three bottle cages as well as top tube mounts for a bento box and triple rack mounts on the fork for ultimate carrying capacity. For extra storage the frame has Enve's Cargo Bay downtube storage system: one of the cleanest, secure and best engineered examples of in-frame storage we've seen.

Tire clearance is a big deal, and as far as gravel bikes go, the MOG has more tire clearance than most. With a minimum clearance of a 700 x 36c to keep the BB from getting too low, the MOG is designed for big rubber. Enve say 700 x 44c is optimal, and 700 x 50c is the max, leaving plenty of room for those wanting the biggest tires around.

Geometry

Coming in six frame sizes with three different fork rakes, the MOG is designed for incredible handling no matter the size. Head angle sits around 71.25º with a 420mm chainstay and fork rakes at 57, 55, and 53mm going up the size range. Reach is 389mm and stack 565mm in a 54cm with a 75mm BB drop. With a short-ish chainstay and a longer reach the MOG should combine quick handling with stability at speed while leaving enough room for minimal toe overlap with bigger tires. The perfect recipe for a modern gravel bike to take on tight switchbacks and technical descents as well as smashing out the miles hour after hour. A La Carte

The MOG comes as an a la carte build - that means you get what you see here, a frame kit with the option to change parts to achieve your perfect fit. Because gravel is such a personal genre of riding and really open to interpretation, the MOG can be built however you want it. Whether it's an all-road build with deep dish wheels and a 2x road setup or a mini-mountain bike build with dropper post and wide range 1x drivetrain, or somewhere in between, the MOG can be set up whichever way suits your riding best.

The MOG is in store and available now; contact us to arrange your dream MOG build, or simply head to our web-store and fill your cart.
