The Melee is the second bike from carbon Fibre pioneers Enve, the first being the Custom Road Bike. While the Melee doesn't have custom geometry and paint, it's no less of a special bike and is designed to give each size of rider the best possible experience with 7 frame sizes, 5 different fork rakes and coming as a chassis with Enve handlebars, stem, seatpost and wheels, they can be tailored to each rider's fit and preference.
Enve designed the Melee as an aero-optimized road bike with the lowest possible weight, not as a dedicated aero road bike and without the associated compromises that come with that. In short, the Melee is designed to be the best riding and handling road race bike possible with zero compromises. Each Melee will be a custom build with the rider's choice of drivetrain, brakes and finishing kit, giving an almost fully custom bike at a mass-market price point.
The Melee prioritises efficiency and speed, while also taking cues from the Custom Road Bike to create the best possible fit. Engineered in the wind tunnel to create tube shapes to complement their SES and Foundation wheelsets and make the Melee real world fast. Balancing aerodynamics, stiffness and efficiency, the Melee more than anything else feels fast, responsive and agile. The perfect bike for all types of road cycling from conquering mountain passes to racing your local criterium.
As we alluded to, the Melee takes cues from the Custom Road Bike to give riders the best possible fit within a standard range of sizes. Enve know that the best way to unlock a bike's full performance is first to unlock the performance of the rider by optimising their fit and comfort on the bike. By designing the Melee as a customisable package with sizes from 47cm to 60cm with an a la carte selection of Enve's own cockpit parts the Melee is the most readily customizable fixed-geometry race bike on the market.
With clearance for 35c tires and mounts for fenders, the Melee may be a high end race bike, but clearly has intentions to be used year-round in the real world too. An amazing bike for real riders, it truly is a no compromises machine as far as off the shelf frames go.
