The Tallboy has always had a loyal following among riders who want a trail bike that can do it all, and the sixth generation is the most capable version yet. Santa Cruz put it on a diet (dropping over 300g from the frame) while adding travel and completely reworking the suspension kinematics, the result of obsessive in-house development that involved 15 different link iterations and more shock tunes than anyone bothered counting. The new four-bar platform is tuned for confidence without feeling sluggish, lower progression keeps it supportive early in the stroke, low anti-squat means it pedals through rough terrain without fuss, and it holds its line well under braking too. It's still the Tallboy: fun, efficient, and happiest when you're pushing it. It's just better at all of it now.

CC Carbon For All

CC Carbon For All

All Tallboy builds come with a CC frame. CC frames are Santa Cruz's highest grade of carbon frames, they are the toughest, lightest, best handling frames they make.

Accessory Mounts

The Tallboy frame also features an accessory mount on the underside of the top tube so that you're always prepared on every ride.

Glovebox V2

Glovebox V2

The Glovebox allows you to store all your ride essentials inside your frame. Tubes, tools, plugs, and a pump can all fit inside there. The V2 features some quality of life upgrades to make it more durable and easier to use.

4-Bar Suspension

4-Bar Suspension

The Tallboy received some serious suspension attention this generation. Travel is up, but it pedals better than ever. Slightly reduced progression keeps the suspension supportive and engaged right off the top, while a low anti-squat tune lets the rear wheel stay supple and track the ground whether you're grinding through rough terrain or charging downhill. It also holds up impressively well under braking. For a short-travel trail bike, the 4-bar design genuinely punches above its weight.

Sizing Guide

The sizing chart is a great place to start when picking your next bike but everyone will fit a bike a bit differently. Your torso, arm, and leg lengths all play into what size of bike you may need. Plus, there's your own personal preference.

We always recommend swinging by the shop and taking the bike that you're looking for a spin to see how it feels.
