Gravel Seeker | October 25-26

Gravel Seeker | October 25-26

It's official: summer has slipped away, fall is rolling in, and we’re all searching for new ways to keep the wheels spinning and the motivation high.

Enter our first-ever Gravel Seeker event—a self-guided gravel adventure designed for good times with friends, dotted with hidden checkpoints, and topped off with some seriously great prizes at the finish. Keep reading for all the details.

What is Gravel Seeker?

Gravel Seeker is part ride, part scavenger hunt, and all about fun. Over the course of ~70km (calculated from the Dollarton exit off Second Narrow and back), you’ll track down four checkpoints scattered around the Vancouver area.

Here’s how it works:

  • We’re giving you the first checkpoint up front—check the image below to see where you’ll be heading first.
  • Once you arrive there, you’ll get the coordinates of the next location.
  • Checkpoints will be shared as coordinates, accompanied by an image and hint to find the following location.

How you connect the dots is up to you—choose your own adventure! Test your local gravel knowledge, or discover fresh routes you’ve never ridden before. Don’t worry, we’re not sending you "too" deep in the wilderness—these checkpoints will keep you within reach of civilization and cellphone service most of the time.

To qualify for prizes, you must complete your ride between Saturday, October 25th at 12:01am and Sunday, October 26th at 11:59pm.

Not sure you’ve got 70km in your legs? No problem. You can:

  • Break the ride into two shorter segments and complete it over the two days, or;
  • Use alternative transport once you’ve reached the final checkpoint (~50km).

How to Enter the Giveaway:

  1. Complete the full ride by reaching the four checkpoints on October 25th or 26th.
  2. Submit this form with a link(s) to your Strava ride(s)— or any other ride tracking app you might be using.
  3. Make sure your ride setting is public.

That’s it—you’re in the prize draw!

  • Winners will be contacted by email on October 27th and will be announced on our Instagram page (follow us if you haven't yet).
  • Prizes must be picked up at Steed Cycles before November 10th, 2025.
  • We'll coordinate with all the winners to make sure you get something that fits (you or your bike).

Group Ride - Saturday October 25 at 9AM

Looking for people to ride with? Join us for a shop-led group ride! We’ll roll out from the shop at 9AM sharp and head straight to the first checkpoint.

Two pace options will be available:

  • Fast: ~25–28 km/h average
  • Steady: ~20 km/h average

Groups may naturally split and re-form along the route, but our goal is to ride together all the way to the finish. Given the ~70 km distance, we’ll keep a steady pace and limit stops along the way, so please make sure you’re comfortable maintaining this pace for the full ride.

What to bring:

  • Gravel bike in good working order
  • Repair kit with everything you need for a flat or minor mechanical
  • Snacks and plenty of water (there will be opportunities to purchase snacks during the day)
  • Layers to be ready for any kind of weather

Share Your Ride

We’d love to see where the ride takes you! Tag us on Instagram, or upload your photos through the entry form—we’ll be sharing our favorites in our recap post and over the weekend. Get your crew together, line up your snacks, and kick off Fall the right way!
