The year is nearly over, and looking back on 2025 has us feeling grateful above all else. None of what happened this year would’ve been possible without the people who show up, ride with us, volunteer, support, and make this community what it is.
So grab a coffee, get comfy, and join us as we look back on the past twelve months, one pedal stroke at a time.

Ride Club 2025

Supporting Our Local Trails
As a shop that sends mountain bikes into the wild, supporting the trails we ride is a responsibility we take seriously. This year, we were proud to back the North Shore Mountain Bike Association through several initiatives.

Partnering with Santa Cruz Bicycles, we adopted the Pennzoil trail on Fromme for another year, and held five public trail days. A lot of dirt was moved, the trail got some real love, and every trail day was wrapped up with well-earned pizza.
With the help of 7mesh and OneUp Components, we also brought some "fiesta" fun to our annual NSMBA Fiver après, serving tacos and good vibes to more than 125 riders.
And because 2025 was full of firsts, we hosted an aid station at the inaugural NSMBA Women’s Enduro in September. The whole North Shore community rallied to support the 104 riders who tackled the course on some of our most notorious trails.

To top it off, we teamed up with Beva Brewing for the limited-run Trail Daze Spruce Tips Hazy Pale. Our team joined NSMBA for a brew day and Beva donated money back to the trails for each pint and 4-packs sold. In our opinion, nothing tastes better than a beer that builds berms.

Store Events
We love our store. And we love having friends over.
We kicked off the year with a packed house for our Jackson Goldstone Talk Night. Looking back, it feels incredible to have had a glimpse into the World Champion’s mental and physical prep, especially knowing everything he went on to achieve this season. Having Jackson with us just before his big comeback is a moment we’ll remember for a long time.
If you missed it, the full podcast is available on the Steed Cycles YouTube Channel.

In April, we hosted the premiere of Only a Ride with local endurance mountain biker Anthony Boussetta. The film follows Anthony as he links ten different zones in the Sea-to-Sky corridor between Squamish and Coquitlam on his bike—270 km, over 10,000 m of climbing, non-stop, with no sleep and no cars. After the screening, Anthony joined us for a Q&A, sharing insights and stories from the incredible journey.

Supporting Female Riders
Steed Cycles is fortunate to have talented women working across every part of the shop, from service to operations, management, sales, and marketing. Their perspectives help shape how we show up as a brand and give us a fuller view of the cycling world. Supporting female riders is something we care deeply about.

This year, we continued our partnership with the Shore Sirens, a local mountain bike club community for women+ and non-binary riders looking to build skills on and off the bike. We hosted their Season Opener and ran a series of mechanic workshops designed to empower riders to wrench on their own bike with more confidence.

We also teamed up with SRAM and Jaime Hill—founder and coach at Hilltop MTB—for an International Women’s Day ride and hands-on mechanic session. Jaime shared her knowledge with riders and filled the shop with the kind of energy that makes you want to hit the trails, and fix your bike, with more confidence.

In July, we celebrated the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift with Liv Cycling Canada and our neighbours at Bad Dog Bread. Twenty riders joined us for a sunny (and slightly chilly) social ride, including two legends from the original Women’s Tour in the 80s: Barb Lang and Sue Drinnan. It was a special day that let us experience a little piece of cycling history, past and present.

We also hosted an aid station for the Rapha Women 100 and celebrated Analog Racing Team’s first anniversary. This Vancouver-based race team is on a mission to uplift elite female road cyclists in the PNW, and we were proud to support their vision while celebrating their journey with them.

Community Rides
Riding bikes is fun. Riding bikes together is better. So in 2025, we kept finding new ways to roll as a community.
We teamed up with Pas Normal Studios for a few events this year, a brand known for stylish chaos and unexpected surprises. First, our January Resolution Ride where about 20 riders braved the cold for a 120 km loop, complete with a mid-ride aid station featuring hot coffee and a fireplace that was more than welcome.

Next up was a Sea-to-Sky gravel adventure from Squamish to Whistler and back—fast-paced, challenging, and with vibes soaring as high as the elevation.
Later in the summer, in honour of the Tour’s mountain stages, we ran a Strava Hill Challenge up Cypress Mountain where about 120 riders gave their all to earn the KOM/QOM jerseys.

Another fun brand partnership happened in May, when we teamed up with Thule and United Strangers Coffee to host a public shuttle day on Seymour. This was the perfect way to shake off the early season legs and get back into the rhythm... plus we had the chance to see a few local legends in action.

And lastly but not the least, there was the first-ever Gravel Seeker: a scavenger-hunt ride that sent 117 riders searching for checkpoints from North Vancouver to Port Moody. No two routes were the same. Even our shop ride got a little scattered, and half the fun was figuring out where on earth everyone else went. This event was a first for us and we cannot wait to see where the second edition will take us. You can read our full event recap here.

Looking back on 2025, it’s clear that the year was less about what we did and more about who we did it with. Every ride, trail day, workshop, and event was made better by the community that showed up, supported each other, and kept the energy alive.
As we roll into 2026, we’re excited to keep building experiences that bring cyclists together, on the road, the trails, and at the shop. Thank you for being part of it, and here’s to another year of shared adventures and new memories.
