Final Pretty and Gritty Ride of the season

The 2nd Sunday of September welcomed the final Pretty and Gritty ride of the season with a perfect, sunny summer day. This ride was supported by Elladee Brown of Shimano, former pro downhiller, and such a lover of all things cycling that her energy and enthusiasm are contagious. The good kind of contagious that is.

We had an amazing group of women with the skill and/or the will to try new trail features. This is the essence of riding in a supportive and nurturing environment. You get to learn skills and build confidence to push yourself slightly out of your comfort zone to master new things. For me it was trying to stay on Myriam’s fast wheel and watching Monika ride a drop that I had previously not considered within my skill set. I now have some new goals for my upcoming rides!
While this was the final ride of the season, stay tuned for more news on what we have planned for next year. There’s going to be a whole lotta Pretty and Gritty happening for the Steed Cycles women’s mountain bike club!
Thanks to Steed Cycles, Marx Conditioning, Shimano and most importantly, everybody that came out to the rides! Have a great off-season and see you in 2015.
