>The Chilcotin’s- 1st Time!
29th August
>The Chilcotins. That’s right, you’ve probably heard of the place. But have you been there? Well I hadn’t, and neither had Chris. However, we had two veterans to lead the rooks. What were we in for here? Well, we had a 4 hour drive to figure that out. First we had to jelly all our junk into the rear of the Steed van…We crept up on it at night, so not to cause a stir. We for sure stirred up some dust on the Hurley. I used most of the time to catch up on napping. Chris and I were practically penned in the back with duffel bags, sleep seemed like a good option considering the 6+ hour ride the following day.Once out of Pemberton we were cell phone free. Which to some may be terror, and others a blessing. … Read More »

The 10th annual Dirty Duo kicked off yesterday at 8am sharp under a VERY wet sky and some of the wettest, bitter cold conditions in Dirty Duo history! Being the 10th anniversary, 100 more participants than usual arrived to test their North Shore mountain spirit!
Steed Cycles racer, Lina Augaitis is all smiles at the start line, and ended up2nd in Co-ed division with fiance Andrew Dye
The classic Dirty Duo event that started 10 years ago by Mike Wardas was all about pre-season suffering on a 25km rugged trail run followed by a 30k technical mountain bike ride. Surprise, surprise, lots of people thought it was a grand idea. I caught the bug 7 years ago and now have completed … Read More »
>Blur XC Carbon- Light, Light, Light
17th December
>Earlier this year when the Blur XC carbon was released I read all the reviews and wanted one! I rode the aluminum version back in 2006/2007 and really liked it. At the time it was one of the lightest XC bikes out there and I was able to get it down to 23.5 pounds with some less than strong, and noodly parts. This time I wanted a stiffer more shore worthy XC bike and I wanted to go with a carbon frame for the stiffness when climbing…a few hills around here. Once I am done with a few chages I hope to get this bike under 22 pounds. Stock it is 22.5 pounds.I picked the XTR XC Build Kit and Sid Team to complete the machine. I was building it up last night and layed out all the parts as … Read More »
>Carbon Does it all!
24th March
>Santa Cruz made a Blur XC carbon!?!? Some people might already know about this beautiful steed, but if you don’t it’s a dream bike you have to check out! It has this clean glassy look to the frame and the curves that Mr. September would envy.Santa Cruz has hit a home run with this rig. The integrated carbon chainstay protector is a nice detail, as well as the aluminum chain slap protector. In true Santa Cruz fashion all the details are there, and they they all look incredible. From the all aluminum and titanium hardware, to the carbon upper linkage, the inset derailleur hanger, and lower-linkage grease port. This bike is strong, light, and intended to last.
