A big dust cloud quickly developed in the starting lane of the first Cross Race in Langley

My first Cyclocross Race of the season started out in a big cloud of dust on a beautiful Langley Pumpkin Farm. Since I finished last season in 2nd place for the series, I was called up to the front row for the start of the Masters Category (35+). I slipped a pedal at “go” and then fumbled the first corner, losing about 5 places. So much for keeping the hurt locker open for the first half lap; I was red lined trying to keep at the front, choking on dust, feet shaking trying to clip my pedals in and pedal at 160 cadence, haha!
